Brooke Yingling
MEd, MA, LPC, NCC, EMDR
I grew up in a military family where I lived all over the country and other parts of the world and have developed a deep appreciation for people of all different backgrounds and cultures. I love school and consider myself to be a “life-long learner.” I received my Bachelor’s in Community Health and my Master’s in Education. I worked in education for 11 years before I transitioned into the mental health field, working with patients with eating disorders. I received my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and feel deeply passionate about working with individuals and groups in a therapeutic setting and have seen first-hand the power of therapy.
My Approach
My approach is warm and empathetic. I create a safe and nonjudgmental environment for my clients to open up, be their authentic selves, and share their story. I use a variety of evidence-based practices (treatments that scientific research shows to be most helpful and effective) and alter the practices I use for each client, as each client is unique. My clients and I set goals to work on, so we have a clearer path to walk on our therapy journey together, and I often give out “homework” so clients can continue to learn and grow in between sessions. I incorporate humor when appropriate and tend to be direct, as I will gently challenge my clients to grow and become the best version of themselves.
