Ashley Jackson
MA, LPCC
Hi! I’m Ashley. I am originally from the Midwest, but I recently moved to Colorado, and I am looking forward to exploring all it has to offer!
A little about me: I love getting out for walks with my dog, drinking coffee, watching sports (especially college basketball), baking, and gardening. I received my undergraduate degree in clinical/community psychology and social work from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, and my Master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Bradley University.
I spent a couple of years working in community mental health before transitioning to private practice. That experience has deeply informed the way I approach therapy, and I strongly believe in the importance of considering both personal and contextual factors in the healing process. In other words, I think what’s going on around you plays a big part in impacting you and your mental health. Schedule Consultation >
My Approach
My approach to therapy is nonjudgmental, empathic and direct, when appropriate. I believe you are the expert in your own life, and I am here to help support you along the way. I will point out patterns that may not be serving you, but I will always ask for your consent first to see if it is something you want to work through. I will come into therapy sessions with curiosity and warmth.
I specialize in working with individuals navigating life transitions, family systems challenges, mood disorders, like bipolar disorder and depression, and anxiety disorders. I also have experience working with individuals with serious mental illnesses (bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, etc.) and substance use disorders.
I use evidence-based approaches in my practice. Specifically, I enjoy exploring how behaviors align with your values, working on building in your schedule to support mood, and identifying negative thinking patterns that contribute to depression and anxiety. I love collaborating with clients to tailor the therapy experience to their specific needs.
